Sao Paulo / August 30, 2012 / with / Brazil intends to invest financial envelope of $ 40 billion reais (about 5.19 billion U.S. dollars) in the wind energy sector by 2020, according to agency reported "Brazil" of news.

The IAEA report that these investments come after entering a new phase of the sector competitive in Brazil, which seeks to diversify and develop alternative energy sources to cover its energy needs in the future.

And Brazil has the first investment in the wind energy sector in 2004 through the "stimulus program of alternative energy sources," to bring in new technologies and renewable forms of energy production, including small stations hydropower and wind, according to the same report.

It quoted "Brazil" for the chief executive of the Association of Brazilian wind energy, Elbaa Mello, that "wind is the second source of energy more competitive in Brazil", which seeks to enhance the contribution of this product energy in their production electric to 4.5 percent by the year 2016, instead of 5.1 per cent today .

Mello noted that Brazil has invested about 25 billion reais (about 3.12 billion U.S. dollars) between 2004 and 2011 in the wind energy industry, particularly in the north-east and south of the country.

The chief executive highlighted the Brazilian Association of wind power that the prospects for energy industry this kind greatly promising given the competitiveness experienced by the sector, which contributed to the improvement of small carts production and increase investments.
